Information for patients

If you are a patient at a general practice clinic or Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service that is participating in ACCEPt, the only change you will notice is that you may be requested to have a routine chlamydia test. This chlamydia test can be done using a urine specimen, a self-collected vaginal swab or a swab collected by your doctor if you are having a Pap smear. Tests and results will be managed by your doctor or health care worker. At no point will the University of Melbourne research staff access your name in relation to your medical records.

Some patients may be asked to participate in a survey at the start and end of the project. If you are attending the clinic during this survey time, a research officer from the University of Melbourne may approach you when you visit the clinic and invite you to participate. This survey is completely voluntary and you may withdraw at any stage.
